Adult treatment
There’s a myth that braces are for younger people but the fact is that for adult patients an orthodontically corrected smile can improve their self-confidence and their life quality. Secondly, some adults have highly destructive bites and have worn their teeth extensively. Orthodontists can align their teeth and improve their bites to ideal function and hence increase the longevity of their teeth.

Early treatment
Treatment in younger children is known as interceptive and can be done as soon as age 6-7 years of age. This is considered the best time to deal with issues such as crowding. Two conditions that need intercession are protruding teeth and teeth in crossbite, which can course the jaws to grow unevenly. Some signs that your child may need to see an orthodontist are:

  • Thumb and finger sucking
  • Grinding teeth or clenching teeth
  • Deep bite
  • Protrusion
  • Traditional metal braces - These are standard metal brackets  placed on your teeth with an adhesive and connected by wire. They require tightening in order for steady pressure to gradually straighten your teeth and line up your jaw.
  • Clear braces  - For those seeking a less visually obvious solution clear braces are an option. Clear braces have the same purpose as traditional metal braces,
  • Invisalign clear aligners - is a type of orthodontic treatment that helps to straighten teeth without the use of the typical metal braces.  It does not include any wires and brackets. Invisalign  requires wearing a series of custom-made clear plastic aligners that help modify your teeth into the proper position. These can be taken on and off for eating and brushing teeth
  • Lingual braces - Lingual braces are a type of fixed orthodontic treatment appliances. They are orthodontic brackets that are attached on the inner sides of the teeth but are more expensive than traditional metal braces.

·      Retainers – are usually removable appliances that help maintain your teeth in the correct positions
