Treatments for every age
Whether you are an adult looking for a confident smile, or a parent thinking about your child's first visit, we will recommend the approach that suits you best.
It is never too late
There is a myth that braces are only for young people. In fact, an orthodontically corrected smile can improve your self-confidence and quality of life at any age.
Some adults have bites that have worn their teeth down over many years. Orthodontic treatment can align the teeth and improve the bite, so the teeth work properly and last longer.
Start early, when it counts
Treatment in younger children is called interceptive treatment. It can start as early as age 6 or 7, which is often the best time to deal with issues such as crowding.
Protruding teeth and teeth in crossbite need early attention, because they can cause the jaws to grow unevenly.
Signs that your child may need to see an orthodontist:
- Thumb or finger sucking
- Grinding or clenching teeth
- A deep bite
- Protruding front teeth
Choose the option that fits your life
We will talk you through each option at your consultation, including cost, appearance and how often you need to visit.
- Traditional metal braces Standard metal brackets bonded to your teeth and connected by wire. They are tightened regularly, so steady pressure gradually straightens your teeth and lines up your jaw.
- Clear braces For a less visible option. Clear braces work in the same way as metal braces, using more discreet brackets.
- Invisalign clear aligners A series of custom-made clear plastic aligners that move your teeth gradually. There are no wires or brackets, and you can remove them to eat and to brush your teeth.
- Lingual braces Fixed brackets bonded to the inner surfaces of the teeth, so they are hidden from view. They cost more than traditional metal braces.
Retainers keep your smile in place
Retainers are usually removable appliances that hold your teeth in their new positions, so the results last.
